Toys that use cords are being purchased by more individuals. Cell phones, laptops, and iPods are practically mandatory in any Irvine home , but need a variety of unattractive cords. Several vendors are now developing furniture with power strips, USB ports, and phone and Internet jacks built right in. Power sources can be concealed nearly anywhere, in nightstands, work tables, and coffee tables.

Avoiding spills on night stands and coffee tables is one challenge that comes with power outlets. Can we keep liquids away from the coffee table, just as we keep them away from the keyboard? Until cell phones and laptops are waterproof, we should proceed with caution. This style of furniture is thought of as a luxury, but might eventually become the norm.

Your Irvine home has a modern kitchen and a backyard intended for company. Installing an elevator could be your next step. Among baby boomers, residential elevators are more common than you would think.

Traditional elevators, similar to those in hotels or apartment building, are pricey. A pneumatic lift is the less expensive, newer system. This style involves a tall, clear tube with a platform that moves up and down using the force of suction. Elevators take up space and may not be for everyone. However, Irvine homeowners with elevators can't imagine living without.
